From the Children's Corner Dear Reader, School's out! Whether you are celebrating another year's end or this is your first official school free summer the library would like to invite you to join the summer reading club during your time off. The summer reading program enables kids to read for fun and keep track of what they read during the summer months. Kids participating in the program will be assigned a "team" and the "teams" will compete (read) to reach a goal. Once that goal is reached the game will start over with a new goal. To the winners... bragging rights. This year's summer reading theme is "Catch the Reading Bug!". To go with this theme I am designing special programming including buggy games, crafts, story times, movies and much more. We will be hosting fun filled family events such as the BACK INTO NATURE bug program and special bug themed movie screenings. But that's not all... the library will also offer non-bug related programs that are back by popular demand. That's right, KID'S CAFE (a no cook cooking workshop), PARKING LOT ART, and the BABYSITTING WORKSHOP will make encore performances. And let's not forget the most awaited event of the year... the Friends of the Library sponsored PONY RIDES and PETTING ZOO!! Registration for the summer reading program will open the first official day of summer, June 20th.
