Dunellen Public Library

Computers at the
Dunellen Public Library

The library has nine public use computers. Four are located in the adult section of the library,  four are located in the children's section and the ninth is located in the meeting room. Each computer provides public access to the Internet. In order to share our resources fairly, patrons are limited to a 30 minute session if other patrons are waiting to access a computer. Users must sign-in to use the computers.

In addition to Internet access, the four computers in the children's section have Microsoft Word 2000 and Corel Word Perfect 2002 installed for word processing. The five adult computers have the Microsoft Office Suite 2000, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and Publisher, and Corel Word Perfect 2002 installed.

The library subscribes to to the following Internet magazine databases:  Ebsco, Infotrac, Informe (Spanish language), NoveList, Jersey Clicks and a newspaper index. All public computers have links to each of these databases from the desktop and the "Databases" page on the library Web Site.

All the computers are networked to print at one central location.  BEFORE PRINTING patrons must pay 10¢ per printed page.  Patrons are asked to press the print button only once and collect their documents at the circulation desk.  If there is any errors with the printing patrons are asked to consult library staff.

Discs for two multimedia encyclopedias are also available: Grolier's and Microsoft Encarta.  Please ask a librarian to direct you to the proper computers to use these resources.
